iCustom has been entirely made for Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPad mini, iPod Touch, ...).
Its goal is to substitute to the lack of customization possibilities on iOS devices), that doesn't allows you to change the application icons.
iCustom is « just a website », so of course you don't need to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad !
It uses iOS and Safari core functionnalities (webclips, URL schemes & configuration profiles) as a workaround to launch apps (and more) from custom homescreen shortcuts.
This is a great alternative to jailbreak when there is no jailbreak available, or for people that don't want to jailbreak their iOS device!
--
This also means that we can't do anything we want, and there are many limitations.
We can launch with iCustom only apps that provide an « URL scheme » to launch them (not all apps provides such a mechanism, and it is hard to find which scheme is able to launch which app...)
Moreover you won't have on these shortcut icons force touch or notifications for example.
Add to your homescreen a custom icon to launch an iOS application.
It will launch the chosen application immediately.
More than 500 apps are currently available (and growing, thanks to the community!)
Note that some apps added by the community may not work properly: they are tagged as «beta» apps.
--
Go to the configuration page and choose the « Open an iOS application » application type.
Depending on the chosen app, you can have specific options to choose... and of course upload your custom icon to generate the iCustom shortcut!
If you don't find an application in the list, but if you know the custom scheme URL that can launch it, you can provide it manually.
Please also contact me if you confirm that your scheme works, so I can add this app to the list for everybody.
--
Go to the configuration page and choose the « Manually choose the scheme to use » application type.
Then type your custom URL scheme to use... and of course upload your custom icon to generate the iCustom shortcut!
Add to your homescreen a custom icon to make a phone call to someone.
It will launch the iOS Phone app and immediatly call the recipient.
--
Go to the configuration page and choose the « Call a number with Phone » application type.
Then you must set the recipient (phone number)... and of course upload your custom icon to generate the iCustom shortcut!
Add to your homescreen a custom icon to compose a new SMS.
It will launch the iOS Messages app with a new SMS opened.
Additionnaly, you can choose some options to fill the text message with default values.
--

Then you must set the recipient (phone number), you can also put a message body if you want... and of course upload your custom icon to generate the iCustom shortcut!
Add to your homescreen a custom icon to compose a new email.

Additionnaly, you can choose some options to fill the email with default values.
--

Add to your homescreen a custom icon to visit any website.
This is the same as adding a shortcut to your homescreen from Safari, but here you can put your aown custom icon instead of the one provided by the website itself.
Additionnaly, you can choose the browser you want to browse the website, instead of using the default mandatory iOS Safari mobile browser.
--
Go to the configuration page and choose the « Bookmark a website URL » application type.
Then choose your browser, set the URL address of the website you want to launch... and of course upload your custom icon to generate the iCustom shortcut!
Again : iCustom is « just a website », not a native iOS application.
All you have to do is to visit it from Safari mobile.
It is mandatory to use Safari mobile on iOS devices because only Safari can manage the configuration profile and ask you to install your custom icon on the home screen using it..
Once added to your home screen, you can launch your apps even if you're offline (not connected to internet, in airplane mode for example).
You'll just have an iOS message telling you that you are offline the first time, but your app will launch.
Of course, you need to be online in order to configure an app shortcut and add it to your home screen !
